Bambang Ali Basyah Sarif - <bambangs> - HomePage
Bambang is a PhD Candidate in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the university of British Columbia. His research interests are in the areas of wireless sensor network and heuristic based optimization. His current research focus is on the energy efficient video sensor network. Bambang received his B.Sc degree in electrical engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia in 2000 and M.Sc degree in computer engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.


Basak Oztas Yoldemir - <basako> - HomePage
I am currently a PhD student at Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of UBC. I have received both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Bogazici University, Turkey, in 2009 and 2011 respectively. My previous research focus was on protocol design and multimedia streaming over peer-to-peer networks. My current field of interest is mainly vehicular networks.
Chinmaya Mahapatra - <chinmaya> - HomePage
I am currently a MASc student at the department of ECE. I did my B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, India in 2009 and worked as a scientist in Government of India R&D for 2 years prior to joining UBC. My area of focus is Energy & Hardware efficient architectures for future LTE Radio-Over-Fiber systems employing Distributed Antenna Systems. I extensively work with Software defined Radios, DSP Processors and FPGA's employing Physical and MAC layer Algorithms.
Hasen Nicanfar - <hasennic> - HomePage
Hasen received his BASc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 1993, and his MASc. degree in Computer Networks from Ryerson University in 2011. From 1993 to 2010, he has worked in different positions such as IT & ERP manager & consultant, project manager, production engineer & manager, and business & system analyst. His research interests are in the areas of the system & network design and management, security and privacy, cryptography, and routing protocol design, for wireless communication and Smart Grid system.

Lingxia (Linda) Liao - <linda> - HomePage
Lingxia (Linda) Liao received her B.eng from Tsinghua University, China, and M.eng and M.ss from Shanghai University, China and UBC, Canada. She was previously a PhD student of department of Computer Science of UBC and transferred to the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of UBC in Sept. 2013. She has more than five years’ experience in distributed computing and software engineering. Her current research interests include IMS and cloud computing convergence, SDN based network optimization and virtualization, and NGN technologies.


Mahmood Minhas - <mrminhas> - HomePage
Mahmood Minhas received the M.Sc. degree in computer science from the International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 1999 and the M.Sc. degree in computer engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dharan, Saudi Arabia, in 2001. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. His graduate studies are supported by numerous awards and scholarships, including the UBC Graduate Fellowship and the UBC Graduate Entrance Scholarship. His current research interests include the design of energy-aware routing algorithms and protocols for wireless sensor networks.


Nasim Arianpoo - <nasima> - HomePage
Nasim Arianpoo received her B.Sc in Electrical and Computer Engineering form University of Tehran, Iran, and her M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of British Columbia, Canada, with focus on wireless communications. She is currently working toward Ph.D. in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of British Columbia, Canada. Her Research interests include computer networks, wireless networks and network coding.


Narjes Torabi - <ntorabi> - HomePage
Narje received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. in computer engineering from the Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, respectively in 2006 and 2008. In 2009, she joined the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia where she is currently working towards the Ph.D. degree. Her research interests include the design of coexistence management, medium access control and scheduling schemes, realization and implementation of public m-health service.

Paria Jokar received the B.Sc and M.Sc. degree with distinction in electrical engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology. She is currently working toward Ph.D. in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The University of British Columbia, Canada. She has more than five years of practical and working experience in the industry as network and security engineer & analyst. Currently, she holds the research assistant position in WiNMoS Lab. Her Research interests include computer networks, wireless networks and network security.

Peyman is a PhD Candidate in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the University of British Columbia. Scope of his research includes design and analysis of architectures, protocols, and management, control and solutions for interworking of heterogeneous wireless access networks for the future Internet. His areas of interest are broadly in the following areas: Information-Centric Network; Network coding; Context-awareness; Mobility management.

I am a PhD candidate in the department of ECE at the University of British Columbia. My research interests are broadly in the areas of RF and Low Power Integrated Circuits design, Wireless sensor networks and RFIDs. Being co-supervised by Dr. Shahriar Mirabbasi, I am currently working on Efficient Power and Data Converter Circuits for RFID Applications.

I am working on event detection/classification systems in smart homes, to understand human action in home environment and detect important events. My research interests are Computer Vision, Machine learning, and distributed computing.


Seyedali Hosseininezhad - <seyedali> - HomePage
I am doing my PhD thesis on Vehicular wireless networks. To be specific, I am working on data dissemination and routing protocols which are aimed to provide opportunistic connectivity within Ad-hoc and hybrid vehicular networks. I also have worked on server selection and discovery on heterogeneous vehicular networks.
